Kushano Sasanians Ohrmazd (Hormizd) I Kushanshah. Circa AD 265-295. AE Unit.
2.87gm 15.7mm. Kabul valley mint. Superb
Crowned bust right wearing lion headdress crescent in upper
left field / Hormizd standing right holding investiture wreath over
altar in right hand and raising left hand in benedictional gesture to
Anahita rising left from throne holding investiture wreath in raised
right hand and sceptre in left.

About extremely fine Pleasing earthen green patina.
 
 
Note:
The Kushano-sasanians were sasanian princes ruling
the old kushan lands in Bactria the Kabul valley and Gandhara as
sasanian vasalls. Some periods these kushan-shahs were more or less
independent like this ruler Hormazd I Kushanshah ruling about AD
295-325 (or 270-295 according to Cribb). Mint for this type might be the
Kabul valley.
