Kushano Sasanians Ardashir I Kushanshah circa 230-250 AD. AE Unit
20.91mm 2.37gm. Merv mint. Crowned bust right / Anahit seated facing under domed canopy
holding wreath and scepter. Carter – Cribb SI 19 #16 (Bactrian issues) Mitchiner ACW 1264 Gobl Kushan 1028. Very fine brown patina.

Note:
The Kushano-sasanians were sasanian princes ruling
the old kushan lands in Bactria the Kabul valley and Gandhara as
sasanian vasalls. Some periods these kushan-shahs were more or less
independent like this ruler Hormazd I Kushanshah ruling about AD
295-325 (or 270-295 according to Cribb). Mint for this type might be the
Kabul valley.
