Hunnic Tribes, Kidarites, Gandhara. (Circa 4th-5th century AD). AE Unit.
1.86gm, 16.2x17.5mm. Could be a Kidarite king Peroz III or a late Kushan king "Gadahara".
Bearded bust right with 'poppyhead-globe'/ram's horns headdress, large crescent in front of face / Nana and lion (Goddess Ardoksho) enthroned facing, uncertain legend in Bahrami.

A very rare and important coin type that Pankaj Tandon published in JONS 200 (click HERE to see his paper which has more details and a discussion). Who exactly issued this coin is still not entirely clear. It may have been the Kidarite king Peroz III or a late Kushan king "Gadahara".
